About the role
We’re looking for an internal communications officer, based in our London office, to develop compelling communications and events that inform, inspire and connect Macmillan colleagues.
This role is about working with the wider Internal Communications and key stakeholders across the organisation to understand who our Macmillan colleagues are and what they need from internal communications and engagement. It’s about using these insights to develop inclusive, accessible and tailored content.
You will play a key role in telling the stories of our colleagues, as well as, bringing in external voices to bring to life the great work our colleagues are doing every day for people with cancer, and sometimes, voices that challenge us to do more.
About you
Ideally, you will have experience of working with or in a complex organisational structure with employees who operate across varying environments, e.g. clinical, contact centre, enabling functions etc.
A background in internal communications is not essential. We are interested in your transferrable skills, and how you would use these to support the delivery of our communications and engagement strategies, particularly any experience in distilling key information and delivering successful communications. Your application must evidence excellent writing skills, and a clear understanding of what makes a good story. You are comfortable working with stakeholders at all levels, including senior leaders, and a skilled relationship builder who can adapt to changes and use your networks to get things done at pace when needed.
You are proactive, enthusiastic and team-minded, skilled at organising your own time to manage a varied workload to meet deadlines, and you want to get stuck in. You will love working at pace and using insight to drive best practice, whilst consistently learning and improving to achieve the best result.
