About Us
At Macmillan, we’re on a mission to do whatever it takes to support people living with cancer. We believe good design can empower, comfort, and connect — and we’re looking for a UX Designer who shares that belief to help shape accessible, meaningful digital experiences that really matter.

About the role
As a UX Designer, you’ll play a key part in growing our user experience practice and embedding user-centred design across digital programmes and services. In order to achieve this you will have rounded skills in both UX and UI.

Collaborating with a range of disciplines, you’ll help ensure that the voices of people affected by cancer are at the heart of every product and service we deliver.

You’ll use a wide range of insights — from user research, customer feedback and analytics, to usability testing, brand guidelines and tech constraints — to identify opportunities, shape problems, and create thoughtful, inclusive design solutions.

You’ll also contribute to our growing design system and design standards, helping us build consistent and accessible experiences at scale.

Why join us?

  • Purpose-led work – The design decisions you make help support someone affected by cancer.
  • Truly flexible working – We value and apply work-life balance to our day-to-day way of working.
  • Supportive team culture – We value collaboration, kindness, and healthy boundaries.
  • Creative growth – We’re building a design culture where learning, feedback and experimentation are encouraged.
  • Impact at scale – Macmillan is a nationally recognised charity, and our digital products reach millions every year.

About you
We're looking for someone who brings some of the following skills and experience:

  • Experience in a comparable UX/UI design role putting users at the heart of the design process from concept to launch.
  • Proficiency in current UX/UI software and tools - fluency with Figma is required
  • Experience in designing across multiple platforms  – web and apps.
  • Experience in defining and documenting user journeys, using prototypes and mock- ups to communicate concepts

In return, we offer a range of benefits including:

  • 25 days holiday plus flexible bank holiday options, increasing by 1 day every year of service up to 30 days
  • Pension matched up to 7.5%
  • 120+ learning and development offers, with access to external professional qualifications
  • Flexible working patterns, such as compressed hours, flexibility to work earlier or later around our core working hours of 10am-4pm
  • Holiday buying and selling scheme, life insurance, free wills, retail discounts and much more
