About the role:

At Macmillan, we do whatever it takes to ensure everyone affected by cancer gets the best possible support today—and we’re committed to driving a revolution in cancer care for the future.

We’re looking for a passionate and driven Trusts and Foundations Manager to help us unlock high-value funding opportunities. You’ll manage a portfolio of charitable trusts and foundations, cultivating long-term relationships and securing five- and six-figure gifts that align with Macmillan’s strategic priorities.

This is an exciting opportunity to join our ambitious Trusts and Foundations team, unlocking significant support to drive our ambitions for growth and impact - enabling us to tackle some of the most complex challenges facing people living with cancer, and reshaping the wider cancer care system for generations to come.

The role sits within our newly formed Partnerships Directorate, created to build impactful, long-term relationships with philanthropists, corporate partners and healthcare leaders.

Join us at a pivotal moment – with a bold new strategy, exciting funding opportunities and a renewed sense of purpose, there’s never been a better time to make an impact.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Managing a portfolio of funders and securing high-value gifts to meet personal income targets.
  • Delivering exceptional stewardship and personalised engagement to deepen donor commitment.
  • Identifying and researching new prospects and developing bespoke cultivation plans.
  • Collaborating across teams to create compelling funding proposals and donor reports.
  • Contributing ideas and best practices to help build a sector-leading philanthropy programme.
  • Using Raiser’s Edge CRM to track donor relationships and fundraising progress.
  • Ensuring compliance with GDPR, data protection laws, and charity fundraising regulations.

What We’re Looking For

  • Proven experience securing five-figure philanthropic gifts and building meaningful relationships.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to craft compelling proposals.
  • Confidence engaging senior stakeholders and influencing outcomes.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with a focus on results and accountability.
  • Collaborative team player with a passion for Macmillan’s mission.
  • Experience using CRM systems (ideally Raiser’s Edge) and understanding of fundraising legislation.

Who You’ll Work With

You’ll collaborate with:

  • Philanthropy, High Value Stewardship & Operations and High Value & Engagement Events teams
  • Corporate Partnerships Division
  • Prospect Development Manager
  • Services and Strategy teams
  • Finance and Cause Information teams

What You’ll Achieve

  • A thriving portfolio of trust and foundation supporters.
  • High-quality proposals and reports that inspire and engage donors.
  • A strong internal network to support approaches to funding.
  • Increased income from trusts and foundations to support Macmillan’s vital work.

In return, we offer a range of benefits including:

  • 25 days holiday plus flexible bank holiday options, increasing by 1 day every year of service up to 30 days
  • Pension matched up to 7.5%
  • 120+ learning and development offers, with access to external professional qualifications
  • Flexible working patterns, such as compressed hours, flexibility to work earlier or later around our core working hours of 10am-4pm
  • Holiday buying and selling scheme, life insurance, free wills, retail discounts and much more
