Fixed Term Contract (12 months)

Hybrid - Split between home and our London Office: Our Hybrid model for this role will mean day per month in the office.

About the role
As a System Tester, you’ll test enhancements and changes to Macmillan’s core business systems and websites, working closely with Engineers, Product Managers, Delivery Managers and stakeholders. You’ll champion quality within your team, helping to ensure that everything we release meets high standards for both our internal users and the people we support.
You’ll be hands-on throughout the delivery lifecycle – from shaping test plans to supporting user acceptance testing – and you’ll help embed best practice testing approaches across both Agile and Waterfall environments.
What you’ll be doing

Testing changes to Macmillan’s business systems and digital platforms

Designing and maintaining clear, effective test plans tailored to business applications and websites

Developing and executing functional, integration and regression test packs

Supporting the creation and delivery of automated tests

Identifying, recording and tracking defects using appropriate tools

Producing clear reports on defects and testing outcomes

Supporting user acceptance testing and working with stakeholders to resolve issues

Leading on Quality Assurance within your delivery team and ensuring test processes are followed

Keeping up to date with software quality assurance standards and best practice

Working in line with Macmillan policies, values and ways of working
About you:

Experience creating Test Plans, Test Scripts and Test Exit Reports

A practical understanding of the Fundamental Test Process in both Agile and Waterfall projects

Working knowledge of Azure DevOps, including Test Manager

ISTQB Foundation in Software Testing (or equivalent experience)

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

The ability to build positive working relationships at all levels

Clear, confident communication skills, with the ability to tailor messages to different audiences
