About the role: 

We are looking for a Pensions Manager to lead our pension strategy and ensure the smooth management of our active and closed pension schemes, including NHS and defined contribution schemes, this being crucial part of our Reward & Wellbeing function. 

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Act as Macmillan’s internal expert on all pension matters. 
  • Ensure accurate and timely processing of pension contributions. 
  • Collaborate with 3rd parties, HR, Finance teams, and pension members. 
  • Manage pension-related communications and strategy. 
  • Handle joiners, leavers, opt-outs, and scheme changes. 
  • Ensure compliance with pension scheme obligations and statutory requirements. 
  • Lead on pension scheme member communications and education. 
  • Support on strategic pension issues and reporting. 

About you: 

  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills. 
  • Excellent attention to detail and reconciliation experience. 
  • Knowledge of pension schemes and relevant legislation. 
  • Experience in administering pension fund arrangements, including NHS Pensions desirable. 
  • CCAB qualified (CIPFA, CIMA, ACCA, ACA) or CIPP qualification preferred. 
  • Experience with HR/Payroll systems.
