This is an exciting opportunity to shape the future of volunteer marketing at one of the UK’s most recognised charities, delivering meaningful campaigns that create lasting impact for people affected by cancer.
About the role
As our Volunteer Marketing Manager, you’ll lead the planning and delivery of multi-channel volunteer marketing and communications campaigns that attract, engage and retain volunteers and campaigners across the UK.
Working closely with internal stakeholders, specialist teams and external agencies, you’ll help deliver sector-leading supporter experiences, using insight and innovation to continuously improve campaign performance and audience engagement.
You’ll also line manage and support the Volunteer Marketing Executive, fostering an inclusive, collaborative and high-performing environment aligned with Macmillan’s values and leadership commitments.
What you’ll be doing
- Leading impactful multi-channel marketing campaigns from planning through to delivery and optimisation
- Managing volunteer communications, including newsletters and supporter engagement activity
- Using data, insight and audience understanding to inform strategy and improve performance
- Working collaboratively across marketing, data, PR, media, content and supporter care teams
- Managing relationships with creative and strategic agency partners
- Supporting the development of volunteer propositions, products and audience journeys
- Managing campaign budgets, reporting and financial forecasting
- Championing inclusive marketing practices and positive supporter experiences throughout all activity
About you
We’re looking for someone who combines creativity with strong project management and stakeholder engagement skills.
You’ll bring:
- Experience delivering multi-channel marketing campaigns or complex projects
- Strong understanding of campaign performance, data and insight-led decision making
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
- Confidence influencing stakeholders and collaborating across teams
- Experience managing competing priorities and driving projects forward
- A proactive, solution-focused mindset
- An understanding of volunteer audiences and supporter engagement would be highly beneficial
- Previous line management or leadership experience would be advantageous
