About us
At Macmillan you'll find talented people working together to do whatever it takes to support people living with cancer. We're going all out to find even better ways to help even more people who need our support. Our values are at the heart of who we are and everything we do, inspiring our thinking and guiding our actions.

About the role

The Macmillan Horizon Centre opened in Brighton in November 2016 and provides support to people affected by cancer from across Sussex. In this role you will directly support and make a difference to people living with cancer by providing quality information and support, tailored to individual needs, whether that's in person, over email or on the phone.

You will play an important role in supporting the smooth running of the information service and act as a first point of contact for our information and support volunteers. You will assist them with any queries and help they need throughout the day, to ensure a quality and consistent service for all our customers. This is often at a time of great need and people may not be aware of the support available so this role is vital in providing each individual with the information and support that's right for them.

About you:

The successful candidate will demonstrate the following skills and experience:

  • You will have demonstrable experience in a customer facing role, providing tailored information and support to deliver a positive customer experience.
  • Experience of supporting and coaching a group of people in an inclusive and collaborative manner.
  • Experience of effective written and verbal communication
  • Proven experience with MS office software along with other computer skills
  • Ability to build and maintain relationships in order to provide a quality service to a range of people.

In return, we offer a range of benefits including:

  • 25 days holiday plus flexible bank holiday options, increasing by 1 day every year of service up to 30 days
  • Pension matched up to 7.5%
  • 120+ learning and development offers, with access to external professional qualifications
  • Holiday buying and selling scheme, life insurance, free wills, retail discounts and much more

Recruitment Process
Application deadline: Monday 6th May
First interview dates:  Wednesday 15th May
