About the role
Join Macmillan Cancer Support as the External Affairs Manager, where you will play a pivotal role in developing and delivering an effective strategy to advocate for systemic change for people with cancer in Wales. You will translate insights into compelling messaging, provide expert political and policy advice, and ensure that marginalized groups receive the support they need.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement a comprehensive external affairs strategy.
- Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including policymakers and healthcare providers.
- Monitor national policy developments and shape internal advice.
- Collaborate with internal teams to create evidence-based propositions for change.
- Represent Macmillan at external meetings and advocate for policy influence.
- Oversee the development of materials for external affairs activities.
About you:
The successful candidate for this role will have:
- Significant experience in delivering successful external affairs strategies in Wales.
- Proven ability to manage and engage diverse stakeholders across sectors.
- A track record of leading teams to achieve impactful results.
- In-depth understanding of government policy development and issues affecting people with cancer.
- Knowledge of the role of charities in influencing decision-making.
