About the role
Are you a senior, experienced policy and public affairs professional, keen to make a difference to the lives of people with cancer? Then this challenging but highly rewarding role could be your opportunity to lead key areas of Macmillan’s UK external affairs work.
As part of the External Affairs UK leadership team, you will lead our engagement and influencing activity on Neighbourhood Health, working closely with other teams to deliver national system change for people with cancer.
You will act as a senior external representative for Macmillan in the neighbourhood health space, enabling us to be a key player with influential audiences. In conjunction with key stakeholders, you will lead matrix teams to develop and pursue influencing strategies to drive change for people living with cancer.
About you
The successful candidate will demonstrate the following skills and experience:
• You will have significant experience in an external affairs role.
• You will have demonstrable experience of leading proactive and reactive external affairs activity.
• Significant experience of delivering successful external affairs strategies which have achieved system change.
• Outstanding relationship skills are essential.
• You will be a skilled communicator who has represented an organisation effectively with external stakeholders.
• You will have an ability to motivate and develop people.
• You will have experience of working collaboratively with both internal and external stakeholders.
