About the role
We’re looking for a passionate and organised Events Officer to help deliver Macmillan’s portfolio of internal and external events, creating powerful, impactful moments that drive engagement and connection.
This role sits within the High Value and Engagement Events team, whose portfolio spans events for key Macmillan audiences - including healthcare professionals, colleagues, volunteers, philanthropists, and policy makers - to inspire and deepen their connection to our cause.
Your key responsibilities will include
- Planning, supporting, and delivering a wide range of high-quality events, with a particular focus on the Macmillan Professionals Conference and Professionals Excellence Awards.
- Building and managing strong relationships with a broad network of internal and external stakeholders.
- Developing content and communications that are meaningful, inclusive, and aligned with Macmillan’s strategic goals.
- Accurately maintaining event budgets and databases.
- Managing systems and processes to ensure robust quality assurance.
- Evaluating and reporting on event performance, with recommendations for future activity.
- Playing a key role in advising and supporting colleagues across the organisation through event clinics and expert guidance.
About you
The successful candidate will demonstrate the following skills and experience:
- Demonstrable experience working on events.
- Excellent project management skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, written and verbal.
- Ability to facilitate and build relationships with stakeholders and teams at all levels.
- Excellent time management and ability to prioritise.
- Good knowledge and experience of databases and ability to analyse and prepare data.
- Understanding of health, safety, data protection and legal requirements for event participants.
This role will involve occasional travel across the UK and some evening or weekend working to support event delivery.
