About us
At Macmillan you'll find talented people working together to do whatever it takes to support people living with cancer. We're going all out to find even better ways to help even more people who need our support. Our values are at the heart of who we are and everything we do, inspiring our thinking and guiding our actions.
About the role
We have an exciting opportunity to join our Cancer Support Marketing and Development team as a Development Manager. In this pivotal role, you will lead a team of specialists responsible for improving and evolving the quality and impact of Macmillan’s Services, ensuring we continue to meet the needs of people living with cancer today and into the future.
You will oversee a diverse portfolio of development and change projects aimed at enhancing our services, products, and processes across Services, from early-stage scoping and design through to implementation and business integration. Working closely with colleagues across Macmillan, you’ll act as a subject matter expert providing insight, challenge, and leadership to ensure all service development aligns with our strategic goals and delivers real, measurable benefits for people living with cancer.
A key part of this role is managing a high-performing team and creating a positive, inclusive working environment where individuals are empowered to succeed. You'll play a vital role in setting clear goals, prioritising work, ensuring projects are delivered on time and to budget, and tracking their success through clear metrics and benefits realisation.
You’ll also work in close partnership with the Head of Cancer Support Marketing and Development and Heads of Services to shape the future direction of Services, ensuring our development pipeline is aligned with organisational priorities and that any interdependencies with wider strategic programmes are well-managed.
This is an outstanding opportunity for someone with strong project and change management skills, excellent stakeholder engagement capabilities, and a deep understanding of customer service delivery—especially within a contact centre or health and social care environment. If you’re passionate about improving the lives of people living with cancer and want to lead real, impactful change, we’d love to hear from you.
In return, we offer a range of benefits including:
- 25 days holiday plus flexible bank holiday options, increasing by 1 day every year of service up to 30 days
- Pension matched up to 7.5%
- 120+ learning and development offers, with access to external professional qualifications
- Flexible working patterns, such as compressed hours, flexibility to work earlier or later around our core working hours of 10am-4pm
- Holiday buying and selling scheme, life insurance, free wills, retail discounts and much more
