About us

At Macmillan you'll find talented people working together to do whatever it takes to support people living with cancer. We're going all out to find even better ways to help even more people who need our support. Our values are at the heart of who we are and everything we do, inspiring our thinking and guiding our actions.

About the role

You will manage a portfolio of running, hiking and cycling events with the objective of raising over £750,000 for people living with cancer. You will be responsible for recruitment through paid and organic marketing and providing a sector-leading stewardship journey to ensure our supporters feel engaged and inspired from the moment they sign-up. You will also be responsible for multiple aspects of event delivery and have the opportunity to collaborate with teams across the organisation.

This role does require weekend work (although not at your desk) as you’ll be out and about cheering on our participants. You will be compensated for your weekend work with days in lieu. A full UK driver’s license is preferred and a willingness to drive a van is a bonus.

About you:

  • Excellent project management and time management skills – able to manage multiple projects to deadlines
  • Excellent relationship management skills – comfortable conversing with a variety of people in different situations
  • Sound knowledge of the industry and marketplace
  • Marketing experience
  • Event management and incident management policies and practices
  • Understanding of Data Protection laws
  • Understanding of health, safety and legal requirements of events

In return, we offer a range of benefits including:

  • 25 days holiday plus flexible bank holiday options
  • Pension matched up to 7.5%
  • 120+ learning and development offers, with access to external professional qualifications
  • Flexible working patterns, such as compressed hours, flexibility to work earlier or later around our core working hours of 10am-4pm
  • Holiday buying and selling scheme, life insurance, free wills, retail discounts and much more

Recruitment Process

Application deadline is 26th January 2025 at 23:59 with planned interviews on 3rd and 4th February 2025.

To ensure fairness and consistency to select the best candidate for this role, all our applications are anonymised up until an interview has been confirmed.

So we can support you to be your best during the application or interview process, please contact Macmillan TA Team TATeam@macmillan.org.uk for advice and reasonable adjustments.
