Split between home and our London Office (1 or 2 days in the office per week)
Salary Range - £49,500 - £54,500 per annum


About the role

In this role you will develop a strategic approach to our engagement with Trustees, proactively looking ahead to anticipate problems or to spot opportunities and sequencing Board and Committee activity to achieve the best outcomes for the organisation.

You will support the CEO and the Board of Trustees to ensure that Macmillan is held to the highest standards of governance. This will involve delegation for Chief of Staff/Company Secretary (CoSec).

About you

This role requires candidates to have demonstrable experience of operating in a very similar or comparable role.

The successful candidate will demonstrate the following skills and experience:

  • Experience of using your knowledge of organisational objectives to develop and implement strategic plans and evaluating outcomes on an ongoing basis to ensure continuous learning across the organisation.
  • Ability to build strong relationships with stakeholders across the organisation, particularly those at senior level whilst also taking accountability for your own independent areas of work.
  • Good strategic decision making and problem-solving skills with a strong attention to detail, with the ability to find creative, workable and timely solutions.
  • Strong planning and organisation skills, including ability to think ahead, taking the initiative to anticipate needs and manage priorities, using effective working practices to deliver work on time and to a high standard in a multi-tasking environment.
  • Previous experience of working closely with Board and Executive teams to drive good governance.
  • Previous experience/qualifications as a Company Secretary is desirable.
