About us
At Macmillan you'll find talented people working together to do whatever it takes to support people living with cancer. We're going all out to find even better ways to help even more people who need our support. Our values are at the heart of who we are and everything we do, inspiring our thinking and guiding our actions.
Role purpose
You’ll work closely with People & Culture Partners, Senior Talent Acquisition Partners and the wider Organisational Effectiveness team to turn workforce insights, plans and representation gaps into effective talent solutions. You’ll build and mobilise diverse internal and external talent pipelines aligned to Macmillan’s future skills needs, support skills-based mobility, strengthen our employer brand and deliver an inclusive, well-coordinated candidate experience.
About the role
You will:
- Partner with Senior Talent Acquisition Partners, People & Culture Partners and the wider Organisational Effectiveness team to understand directorate and organisational workforce plans, skills needs and representation gaps.
- Build and mobilise diverse internal and external talent pools for open and upcoming vacancies, particularly critical, specialist and senior roles.
- Use workforce and mobility data to identify skills gaps and opportunities for skills-based movement across Macmillan.
- Lead sourcing across multiple platforms, tools, networks, social media and events to create broad, high-quality and representative candidate pipelines.
- Review pipeline data, channel engagement and return on investment, adapting sourcing activity and sharing insights to inform future strategy and investment.
- Support delivery and tracking of Macmillan’s representation and diversity targets, advocating for an inclusive and diverse workforce.
- Own the candidate experience from first outreach through to the later stages, leading screening calls and coordinating interviews with candidates and hiring teams.
- Proactively engage passive talent through conversations, open days and virtual or in-person events, acting as a consistent point of contact.
- Plan and lead emerging-talent and volume recruitment campaigns, including pipelining, assessment, selection, tracking and conversion, with Senior Talent Acquisition Partner oversight.
- Maintain accurate ATS records and live, engaged talent pools aligned to workforce plans.
- Stay close to candidate, competitor and industry trends, sharing market intelligence and best practice across People & Culture.
- Develop an annual calendar of recruitment activity aligned to organisational goals for communities, representation and skills.
- Collaborate on Talent Acquisition projects, including process consistency, internal mobility, optimisation and automation.
About you
You bring:
- Demonstrable experience in a sourcing-focused talent acquisition role, consistently delivering diverse, high-quality shortlists across multiple vacancies, including roles up to director level.
- Strong capability with sourcing tools and techniques such as LinkedIn Recruiter, Cord, Boolean search, market mapping and talent identification.
- Experience supporting internal mobility and skills-based talent solutions.
- A genuine enthusiasm for engaging active and passive candidates and building long-term talent pipelines.
- Excellent organisation, efficiency and attention to detail, with the ability to manage simultaneous screenings, priorities and projects while maintaining quality.
- Strong data literacy and experience using evidence and insight to influence decisions and improve sourcing activity.
- Advanced ATS capability, including administration, maintenance, scheduling, talent-pool management and reporting.
- A track record of delivering attraction and assessment strategies, including entry-level and volume recruitment.
- Adaptability, collaboration and a “one team” mindset, with the flexibility to move between roles, tasks and projects.
- Skill in using social media, networking and events to promote an employer brand and actively engage talent.
- Agency or recruitment-technology experience would be helpful, but is not essential.
What you’ll achieve
- Diverse, engaged internal and external talent pipelines aligned to Macmillan’s workforce plans, critical roles and future skills needs.
- Stronger representation, an inclusive candidate experience and faster access to high-quality talent.
- Evidence-led sourcing, attraction and assessment activity with clearer insight into channel performance and return on investment.
- A meaningful contribution to internal mobility, emerging talent and Macmillan’s wider Talent Acquisition strategy and change roadmap.
