At Macmillan you'll find talented people working together to do whatever it takes to support people living with cancer. We're going all out to find even better ways to help even more people who need our support. Our values are at the heart of who we are and everything we do, inspiring our thinking and guiding our actions.
About the role
We’re looking for a dynamic, collaborative and organised individual to join our Innovation team for 12 months.
As Innovation Officer, you’ll play a critical role in supporting Macmillan to be more innovative, and identify, plan and deliver new products and services to help us deliver our strategy and meet the needs of people with cancer. You’ll work closely with colleagues and teams across the organisation, supporting them to bring innovation methodology into their ways of working and ensure the products and services they’re working on are evidence-based, person-centred, and equitable.
You’ll also be fundamental to the planning and sequencing of the team’s projects, making sure all our work is managed efficiently and effectively and delivered on time and to budget.
About you
To succeed in this role, you should have:
- A demonstrable interest in and knowledge of innovation methodologies (e.g. agile, human-centred design, etc.)
- Experience of service or product innovation (– we would be open to someone with less experience if they can show interest and knowledge)
- Excellent planning and prioritisation skills
- Experience of managing multiple projects simultaneously
- Analytical skills
- Experience of building relationships with colleagues at all levels and working collaboratively cross-organisationally
- A curious and open mind
About our benefits
- 25 days holiday plus flexible bank holiday options, increasing by 1 day every year of service up to 30 days
- Pension matched up to 7.5%
- 120+ learning and development offers, with access to external professional qualifications
- Flexible working patterns, such as compressed hours, flexibility to work earlier or later around our core working hours of 10am-4pm
- Holiday buying and selling scheme, life insurance, free wills, retail discounts and much more
