About the role 
 

The Head of Innovation will play a pivotal role in driving the successful delivery of Macmillan’s strategy by delivering innovation initiatives which will either create impact for people with cancer, or drive revenue so that we can do more for them.  

You’ll be responsible for working with senior stakeholders to develop a pipeline of innovation briefs which are based on marketing insights, customer needs and are aligned to our strategy.  You’ll define and optimise Macmillan’s innovation processes and ways of working so the work is delivered on time, to brief and is high quality.  You will also lead a talented team of innovation experts who will be responsible for supporting collaborative, cross-organisational squads to deliver and design new services and products that drive income and impact.   

You’ll have a passion for understanding Macmillan’s customers at depth coupled with a knowledge of trends and technologies. You possess a varied and evolving approach to innovation and rigorous application of market and customer insight. 

 About you: 
 
We’re looking for someone with the following skills and experience:  

  • Demonstrable experience in leading a successful innovation programme end to end - from insight briefing, ideation, prototyping through to scaled initiatives in market  
  • Skills to develop and deliver a successful innovation strategy for short to mid-term, measurable impact  
  • Demonstrable success in scaling innovation for substantial impact or income 
  • Proven ability to synthesise and integrate evidence and insights 
  • Demonstrable leadership experience
