Challenge Events Manager 
Contract Type: Fixed Term Contract (12 months)  
Full time (34.5 hours), we are open to a conversation about how you work these hours

Location: Hybrid, Split between home and our London Office / Shipley Office / Glasgow office. This role is contracted to attend the office 1 day per week. We offer flexibility, as team days and event working can count towards your office attendance requirement.
Salary Range – £- £35200 £39200

About the role

We're looking for an experienced and proactive Challenge Events Manager to deliver part of our Virtual and DIY fundraising portfolio. This role will play a key part in driving participation, fundraising income and supporter engagement through the delivery of marketing campaigns, stewardship journeys and product excellence.

Working closely with colleagues across Digital, Content, Social, Email, Compliance and Supporter Care teams, you'll help deliver high-performing fundraising products that provide an exceptional supporter experience while contributing to Macmillan's income and strategic objectives.

 

Key responsibilities

  • Lead the delivery and optimisation of virtual and DIY fundraising products, ensuring activity is delivered effectively, on time and contributes to participant and income targets.
  • Manage and deliver multi-channel marketing and stewardship campaigns, ensuring supporters receive engaging and effective communications throughout their fundraising journey.
  • Monitor campaign and product performance, using data and insight to identify opportunities for optimisation and improve results.
  • Manage allocated budgets, track performance against KPIs and support forecasting and financial reporting activities.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders, agencies and suppliers to ensure successful campaign delivery.
  • Provide line management support to team members where applicable, helping to set objectives, manage workloads and support development.
  • Represent Macmillan at events as required, including occasional weekend working and the management of staff and volunteers
  • Ensure all activity is delivered in line with organisational policies, procedures and compliance requirements.

 

About you

The skills and experience we are looking for in the role are:

  • Strong project management and organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
  • Demonstrable experience delivering multi-channel marketing campaigns and supporter stewardship programmes.
  • Experience using performance data and insight to evaluate activity, identify opportunities and drive improvements.
  • Strong relationship management skills with the ability to work collaboratively across multiple teams and stakeholders.
  • Experience managing budgets and monitoring performance against agreed targets.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to engage a range of audiences effectively.
  • Experience of line management or supporting the development of colleagues is desirable.
